Breaking News Flash! 129 million Americans may have seen at least one Russian backed Facebook post during the 2016 election! STOP THE PRESSES! CALL FOR ANOTHER INVESTIGATION! Check with Beyonceand Kim Kardashion and see what they think about it! We haven’t even got the number of Russian paid for Tweets that the average American may have seen. What if it is two…or even three!!! Perhaps we should survey the NFL players and get their opinion of what to do about this travesty. A foreign power tried to influence people to vote for a candidate that they believed would further their agenda!
Am I the only one that is so over this? How many times over the years, has our government interfered in the internal affairs of other countries, even backed coups or covertly supported a particular candidate or leader? Isn’t this what countries do? Regardless of the outcome of this investigation, I am left with the feeling that it is mostly about politics. The democrats paid for dirt on Trump from other countries. The Republicans have already admitted that they would have used verifiable material on Clinton if they had had access to it. We are sinking in a cesspool of political maneuvering. If you want to know how I really feel, ask me privately.
I am not watching very much news these days. I feel that my time is better spent praying to our God who does not become deadlocked but can bring about real change in His own time (I Timothy 2:1-2).
I do not want to seem like a broken record but each of us can make a difference every day in the lives of those with which we come into contact. If we spent less time watching what the politicians are doing through the distorted lens of the media and more time affecting real change with a smile, a loving response and a helping hand, we could truly impact the world… one person at a time. We could be lights shining in this dark world rather than just another voice ranting and raving in the darkness(Matthew 5:13-16).
Let us use Galatians 6:10 our mantra: “So then, while we have opportunity, let us do good to all people, and especially to those who are of the household of the faith”. (NASB)
